Beyond Paradise is back! BBC’s beloved m.u.r.d.e.r mystery confirms return date of “thrilling” new season
Humphrey and Martha will face more challenges in season three.
Beyond Paradise season three is set to launch later this month.
The BBC drama, which stars Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton as DI Humphrey Goodman and Martha Lloyd, will return to screens on Friday, March 28.
The confirmed release date was accompanied by a new teaser trailer, setting up new fostering trials for the couple amid new m.u.r.d.e.r cases.
The season three synopsis promises a “thrilling” return for the new series “packed with mystery, humour, and heart and states: “We follow DI Humphrey Goodman and the team as they tackle more mind-boggling puzzles, all set against the breathtaking landscapes of Devon and Cornwall.”

It also expands on Humphrey and Martha’s parenting journey as they welcome new foster child Rosie, a 9-year-old who “brings more challenges than they anticipated”.
Season three teases drama for Esther (Zahra Ahmadi), whose “personal life takes her outside her comfort zone. But is she ready for something new and can she deal with it being public knowledge?”
Meanwhile, Jamie Bamber is set to return to the D.e.a.t.h in Paradise spin-off as Martha’s ex Archie following his absence in season two.
Ahead of the third season’s debut, the cast will reunite for a Red Nose Day special in a crossover sketch, which will bring the worlds of Beyond Paradise and Lee Mack’s Not Going Out together.
Bretton – who plays both Martha Beyond Paradise and Lucy in Not Going Out – will be juggling both roles in the sketch, which features a case of mistaken identities as the two characters cross paths.
Speaking on her experience of working on the Red Nose Day special, Bretton said: “It was great fun to have the two worlds collide, play my own doppelganger and get swept up in the madness that comes with that.
“It was particularly special to be doing it all for such a brilliant cause as Comic Relief.
“The sketch was filmed at such high speed, we didn’t know if we were coming or going. I don’t know how Lee Mack holds all the moving parts in his head.
“We all had a great day filled with fun, confusion and belly laughs.”
Beyond Paradise and D.e.a.t.h in Paradise both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
