THE return date for Beyond Paradise series three has been confirmed – as the show is set to crossover with a hit BBC comedy.
Beyond Paradise follows DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall), a fan favourite from Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise.
The show is returning to BBC iPlayer and BBC One from Friday, March 28.
Humphrey, Martha, Anne, DS Esther Williams, PC Kelby Hartford and Margo Martins will all be back.
While viewers are in for a treat as a host of familiar faces are set to guest star.
Outnumbered’s Hugh Dennis portrays local councillor Arthur Donelan.
Meanwhile, Pirates of the Caribbean star Kevin McNally and Jonathan Creek’s Caroline Quentin will be appearing.
Their respective characters George Ellis and Lotty Lewes are set to butt heads, as farming rivals.
The team face mysteries including a body found in a river, a mysterious chocolate box poisoning and even a spiking incident at sea.
Martha and Humphrey also navigate the challenges of foster parenting, and personal drama shakes up the lives of other beloved characters.
It comes as Beyond Paradise is set for an epic crossover with a beloved BBC comedy.
In addition to playing Martha, actress Sally Bretton also stars as Lucy on Not Going Out.
The two programmes will come together in an upcoming Red Nose Day sketch.
Sally will reprise both of her roles, as they cross paths in a case of mistaken identity.
Not Going Out creator – and Sally’s on-screen husband – Lee Mack has written the sketch.
The premise sees the comedy‘s cast venture out into the world of Beyond Paradise.
Sally said: “It was great fun to have the two worlds collide, play my own doppelganger and get swept up in the madness that comes with that.
“It was particularly special to be doing it all for such a brilliant cause as Comic Relief.
“The sketch was filmed at such high speed, we didn’t know if we were coming or going.”
She added: “I don’t know how Lee Mack holds all the moving parts in his head.
“We all had a great day filled with fun, confusion and belly laughs.”
