Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is facing life without his soulmate Moira (Natalie J Robb) in Emmerdale. Not much scares hard man Cain, but that certainly does.

Moira has been dicing with death by putting her operation off despite an increase in her potentially deadly seizures, and now the consequences of the delay are huge.

After having a seizure while making breakfast, she burned her hand on the bacon pan, which led to her discovering she’d been given a slot to finally have the op. But as news of Zak’s death reached the village, Moira called the hospital and cancelled.

She claimed she was protecting her family from more potential upset in the wake of Zak, but it could now backfire in a devastating way.

The reality of her situation is starting to sink in as her family realises the delay is likely to have hastened her death, and the op is more dangerous than ever.

Cain has been the one to push this operation all along, but as he now realises the odds of survival, and he realises his biggest fear of losing his wife could well be coming true.

These two have been through it all, can a cruel twist of fate separate them forever?

With Moira feeling like time is running out, she plans to go and visit Adam with Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), a plan Cain is not on board with. He’s taken aback when he hears Moira is off, but there’s no stopping her.

The reality of this decision is even darker. Moira and Cain say their goodbyes as she prepares to leave, when it hits them – this is a practice run for when they really have to say their goodbyes.

Has Moira left it too long to be saved?
