Celebrity Big Brother’s Patsy Palmer teases EastEnders exit and eyes up rival soap role
Patsy Palmer hinted she would be open to swapping EastEnders for the Coronation Street cobbles as she spoke with Corrie star Jack P Shepherd in the Celebrity Big Brother house
Iconic EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer has hinted she would be open to swapping soap roles. Speaking to Jack P Shepherd in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Patsy opened up on the potential switch.
The 52-year-old actress who plays feisty Bianca Jackson in the BBC soap told the Coronation Street star she should join him on the Corrie cobbles. Speaking to each other in the kitchen, Patsy joked she should switch allegiances and partner up with Jack’s character, David Platt.
She asked her housemate to teach her how to speak in a northern accent. Patsy requested Jack taught her to say: “Let’s have a bit of cake and some tea.”
Jack seemed impressed by her initial efforts as he stirred his tea. Patsy has featured on EastEnders since her character first arrived in 1993. Her character has dipped in and out of Walford over the decades.
“Even at work at EastEnders, people always say that I bring quite a nice sort of vibe.”
She said she is keen to show people how different she is from her alter ego. “I’ve got my life together!” she laughed. “[Bianca] can’t get her life together. She’s in fight or flight. “I’m not in fight or flight. I’m not really zen, but I do like to try my best to follow that way of life, which is so different from the drama in her life!”
The Hollywood actor is set to have his pay packet “slashed” following his early exit. On Saturday night it was revealed that the actor had been booted out of the house following a very tense first week.
Now, it’s said that he shouldn’t be expecting to get anywhere near his full wage.
“I guess, like they say, I’m a work in progress. I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn’t chosen.”
According to The Sun, he will now receive just a fraction of his deal. It’s suggested he will receive just £50,000 due to his contract being pro-rata despite entering the house for the money.
