Dᴇᴀᴛʜ In Paradise bosses have shared a first look at the upcoming Christmas special, which is set to air in just a week's time, leaving fans desperate to tune in.
The team behind Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise has offered fans a tantalising glimpse into the upcoming 2024 Christmas special with a festive first-look image shared on their official social media.
With just one week until the special episode, the snapshot features Ram John Holder as Nelson Myers alongside a co-star clad in a Santa outfit complete with an arm sling and a package in hand.
Their Instagram post playfully reminded viewers: “Got all your Christmas shopping done? Just one week to go until we kick off Christmas week with the #DeathInParadise Christmas special!”
The tease caused quite a stir among fans on the BBC drama’s Instagram page, with many expressing eagerness. However, many voiced their frustration at the wait.
One fan voiced their impatience with: “I need it right now.” While another said with anticipation: “Looking forward to watching it.”
A chorus of others indicated their excitement with remarks such as “can’t wait.”
This years Christmas special will thrust Don Gilet into the spotlight as DI Mervin Wilson tackles his inaugural Saint Marie conundrum: the baffling case of three Santas shot simultaneously by the same firearm, reports the Express.
The stellar line-up reunites audience favourites including Don Warrington returning as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder playing Officer Darlene Curtis, Danny John-Jules as Officer Dwayne Myers, and Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey, with Ram John Holder reprising his role as Nelson Myers.
Joining the cast for this holiday whodunit is comedian Marcus Brigstocke, taking on the role of tourist Stuart Fullwell.
During an interview on BBC Morning Live, the actor enthused about his latest television role while in conversation with hosts Jacqui Joseph and Gordon Smart.
He expressed his excitement, stating: “Obviously I was thrilled because I know that Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise have been looking for the new detective.”
He revealed the moment he got the news: “So when the call came I instantly called Rachel my wife and said I’m pretty sure we are going to be moving to Guadalupe for six months out of the year.”
Further sharing details of his character’s fate, he confessed: “It was quickly made clear to me that I was going to be killed off but I was still over the moon. It’s a beautiful, brilliant, funny and engaging show. It’s so fun to do.”
