Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise first look at Christmas special leaves gutted fans all saying same thing

BBC is set to air a Christmas special of Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise in a week's time as they shared a sneak peek.

Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise bosses have shared a sneak peek at what is to come in the 2024 Christmas special. Teasing that there is only a week left until the one-off episode airs, their official social media accounts shared a snap of the characters looking festive.

The first-look snap showed Ram John Holder, who plays Nelson Myers, stood in a floral shirt as his co-star posed in a Santa suit, with his arm in a sling while carrying a parcel.

Taking to Instagram, the show teased: “Got all your Christmas shopping done? Just one week to go until we kick off Christmas week with the #DeathInParadise Christmas special!”

Fans flooded the comments with thier thoughts on the BBC drama, as some were absolutely gutted that they had to wait another week. One fan complained: “I need it right now.”

Another added: “Looking forward to watching it.” Others added comments saying that they “can’t wait”.

The Christmas special will see Don Gilet as DI Mervin Wilson as he faces his first Saint Marie mystery as three Santas are all seemingly shot with the same gun at the same time.

Joining him will be Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder as Officer Darlene Curtis, Danny John-Jules as Officer Dwayne Myers, and Élizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey plus Ram John Holder as Nelson Myers.

Among the line-up is also comedian Marcus Brigstocke, who steps into the shoes of tourist Stuart Fullwell.

Speaking to BBC Morning Live about the role, chatting with hosts Jacqui Joseph and Gordon Smart, the actor said: “Obviously I was thrilled because I know that Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise have been looking for the new detective.

“So when the call came I instantly called Rachel my wife and said I’m pretty sure we are going to be moving to Guadalupe for six months out of the year.”

He added: “It was quickly made clear to me that I was going to be killed off but I was still over the moon. It’s a beautiful, brilliant, funny and engaging show. It’s so fun to do.”
