Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise pulled from Friday night but there’s huge treat in store for fans of the crime drama
Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise has been pulled from its regular scheduling on Friday, March 21. But instead, fans of the ‘In Paradise’ universe have a treat thanks to the TV charity show in it’s place.
The programme’s resmoval comes as a result of Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day taking place on BBC One on the Friday, when the show usually airs. Although, fans of the show should not fear as there the charity event has a treat in store for them.
A Red Nose Day exclusive sketch will see, Beyond Paradise (the spin-off of the crime drama) and the comedy sitcom Not Going Out collide to make for a never seen before programme.
Sally Bretton, known for her roles as Lucy in Not Going Out and Martha Lloyd in Beyond Paradise, hilariously juggles both characters in a comedic whirlwind of mistaken identities. Audiences can look forward to a blend of identity confusion, misunderstandings, and classic slapstick humour in this must-see Comic Relief special.
Joining her are on-screen husbands Lee Mack, who portrays Lee in Not Going Out, and Kris Marshall, who plays DI Humphrey Goodman in Beyond Paradise. Zahra Ahmadi also features as Esther Williams from Beyond Paradise, with viewers likely to recognise other familiar faces from both shows throughout the sketch.
The plot sees an unexpected collision of these character’s worlds, setting up a comedy of errors that promises to be highly entertaining.
The Not Going Out Star, Sally Bretton said: “It was great fun to have the two worlds collide, play my own doppelganger and get swept up in the madness that comes with that! It was particularly special to be doing it all for such a brilliant cause as Comic Relief.
“The sketch was filmed at such high speed, we didn’t know if we were coming or going. I don’t know how Lee Mack holds all the moving parts in his head. We all had a great day filled with fun, confusion and belly laughs.”
The Beyond Paradise actor, Kris Marshall added: “It’s always a delight to be able to combine the joys of comedy with the ability to help the many worthwhile charities that Comic Relief supports. And that as a part of the hilarious mistaken identities and sliding doors pastiche in a melange of two of the BBC’s most beloved shows, I can be a small cog in this year’s wonderful evening of fun, frolics and fundraising.”
The mashup of the two programmes, Not Going Out and Beyond Paradise, will be aired as part of Red Nose Day 2025 on Friday 21 March from 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Beyond Paradise will then return for its third series next weel. March 28 on BBC One, when it will take over Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise’s usual slot.
