Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise return ‘sealed’ as fan favourite ‘to replace’ Selwyn after exit fears
Last week, Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise fans were left heartbroken after the Commissioner finally told his colleagues his job was being dissolved.
Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise could see the return of a fan favourite after Selwyn Patterson’s (played by Don Warrington) future hangs in the balance.
According to the bookmakers’ latest predictions, Danny John-Jules, who played Officer Dwayne Myers, could make his epic return. Sara Martins, who portrayed Camille Bordey, has also been tipped to return.
During emotional scenes aired last week, the Commissioner told his colleagues: “There is also a second apology I have to make.
“I have been keeping something from you which… on the advice of a trusted friend, I have decided to share with you all. The position of Saint Marie’s Police Commissioner is being phased out, and I am being phased out.”
Naomi (Shantol Jackson) hit back, “They can’t,” to which Selwyn replied, “I am afraid they can, and they are.”

While Selwyn’s future in Saint Marie remains unknown, the bookmakers have been coming up with their theories about who could return to the island.
Dwayne last appeared in the Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise Christmas special alongside his father, Nelson (Ram John Holder), and fans were gutted that he failed to appear in the current scenes.
Mike Reading, spokesperson at Betway, said: “The latest season of Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise has already hinted at a major departure – with Don Warrington’s character, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, potentially exiting. As one of the longest-serving characters, the Commissioner has been at the heart of the series and Saint Marie’s police force since the very beginning.
“While this isn’t the first time an exit has been teased for Warrington – after the 100th episode saw his character considering retirement following a near-Dᴇᴀᴛʜ experience – this most recent development may see the Commissioner role change or be ‘dissolved’ for good, paving the way for a drastic shakeup to the show’s long-standing format.”

He continued: “Should Warrington depart, Danny John-Jules is the 3/1 favourite to return to Saint Marie in what could be a surprising twist – reprising his role as fan-favourite character Dwayne Myers to take on the mantle of Commissioner. Close behind is former co-star Sara Martins, priced up at 5/1, who could make a dramatic comeback as Camille Bordey.
“Also in the running are Martin Clunes (7/1) and Adjoa Andoh (8/1), following success with respective shows Out There and Bridgerton. Elsewhere, Lennie James (12/1) and Diane Morgan (16/1) could bring an entirely new dynamic to the detective series, while Wonka star Paterson Joseph is the longshot at 25/1.”
He added: As the newest season continues, all eyes are on who might step into paradise should Commissioner Patterson bid farewell for good!”

Fans have also been sharing their thoughts online, with many hoping Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) or Jack Mooney (Ardal O’Hanlon) will return.
One fan posted on a Facebook fan page: “If Selwyn Patterson leaves Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise, can we have Humphrey and Jack come back to save him from being axed?”
Another agreed: “Bring back Humphrey,” as a third added: “I like all of the characters, especially Selwyn, I do miss Kris Marshall.”
Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise returns tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
