Beyond the Gates kicks off its second week right where we left it, with Dani objecting to Bill and Hayley’s cursed union, pulling out a gun and firing a “warning shot” at the happy couple.

“Do I put this next bullet between your lying eyes, Bill?” she asks, then turns her sights to Hayley. “Or imagine the damage I could do if I destroyed this pest. Decisions, decisions…”

At this point, we’re still waiting for Dani to wake up back in her seat, revealing this all to be a classic soap opera daydream. But no, this really is happening. Even worse, it’s being live-streamed to Chelsea’s massive online following.

Dani doesn’t actually pump anyone full of lead, but she does drop a few truth bombs. “There are too many secrets around here — like this one,” Dani says, gesturing to Hayley. “I have a name,” Hayley replies, to which Dani claps with another perfect response: “Oh, you have a few. None of them are very nice.”

After much pleading from her family, Dani eventually agrees to put the gun down, but only after Bill and Hayley are done “begging… for their lives.” Much to Dani’s displeasure, Bill plays his chivalry card (we didn’t even know he had one!), refusing to let Hayley get on her knees. Dani settles for Bill graveling solo, but he only obliges to get the gun out of her hand.

Following a brief struggle, Bill manages to pry the gun from Dani’s claws. “You could have killed someone!” he yells. “And you could have been a decent human being!” Dani bites back, refusing to give him the apology he demands.

The Duprees Do Damage Control

While Jacob escorts the hostages — sorry, “guests” — from the ceremony, the groom informs Vernon that he’ll be billing him for damages. Typical lawyer.

Everyone is visibly shaken, but they’re relieved that no photos or videos were taken during the incident. That’s when Chelsea realizes she was accidentally broadcasting the whole ordeal, meaning the entire world will soon know what an unhinged (but still gorgeous!) lunatic Dani has become.

The family gathers at Dupree Manor to plan their next move — the first order of business being to find Dani, who’s drowning her sorrows at the bar with a little help from her ride-or-die Pamela. But before she even takes her first sip, a single demanding text from Anita summons Dani back home with her tail between her legs.

When Dani eventually arrives at Dupree Manor, Anita is furious. And understandably so. When Dani addresses her, she can barely even look at her daughter. “Is this a child of mine before me?” she asks, reminding Dani that she has brought great shame on their family. Dani admits that this wasn’t her finest moment, but after the hell Bill has put her through… no! Anita cuts her off. “You see what your shenanigans are costing us?” The entire family is judging her at this point.

Well, almost everyone. Nicole tells Dani to cut herself some slack, reminding her that she was forced into a nightmare of a situation, while Naomi flat-out says that Bill and Hayley got the wedding they both deserved. Even Martin says he understands how rage can boil over and push otherwise sensible people to extremes — which only makes us even more curious about those night terrors he’s been having. (Martin Dupree, what did you do?!)

The family is worried about Jacob speaking to the police, and they’d also like to get their hands on Dani’s gun — but both of those concerns go out the window when Chelsea reveals that she accidentally streamed the incident to 1 million+ viewers. Knowing they’ll have to address the matter, Vernon calls a press conference at the country club. (Here’s hoping they’ve installed metal detectors!)

The Show Must Go On

Most people would need a stiff drink (or seven) and a long nap to recover from the events of this day, but not Hayley. Surrounded by the literal wreckage of her big day, Hayley agrees to move forward with the wedding, right there and then.

It’s a quick, low-key affair, one that ends in hugs and cheering from everyone involved. Bill even carries her over the threshold, smiling and laughing as if they weren’t held at gunpoint moments earlier. “What did I do to deserve you?” Hayley asks. (Something terrible in a past life, probably.)

Bill tells Hayley to shift her focus to their Italian honeymoon, but when Bill get a text message alerting him to the Duprees’ press conference at the country club, their plans change.

Leslie and Eva Vow to Make Ted Pay

Meanwhile, Leslie and Eva are still twirling their mustaches in celebration of a job well done. Eva is officially Nicole’s new assistant, bringing her one step close to being back with her biological father… Ted!

“Dr. Big Shot thought he could just wipe us away, forget that you and I exist,” Leslie says. “Ted Richardson and his high-and-mighty wife are in for a rude awakening. They’re going to pay for trying to erase my baby girl Eva — and for trying to erase me.”

Now, here’s where things get a little confusing: Leslie says that Ted disappeared the moment she became pregnant with Eva. “Ted Richardson didn’t give a damn about whether we lived or died, and he still doesn’t,” she says. So, was Eva lying when she told Nicole that Leslie isn’t her biological mother?

It isn’t long before we get our answer: “We can’t make any mistakes,” Leslie says. “Outside of these walls, you can never call me mom.” Per the rules of their plan, Eva agrees to stick to their story — Leslie and her husband Alan raised her in Chicago after the death of her biological parents. We also find out that Leslie’s real first name is Dana, which is the name Ted knows her by.

There’s just one hiccup: Eva doesn’t know that Leslie is the one who ran Laura off the road, and something tells us she won’t be thrilled when she inevitably finds out.

Are Ashley and Derek Going Down?

Eager to celebrate his girlfriend’s first week as a nurse, Derek is patiently waiting to meet Ashley for dinner, totally unaware that she and Andre are trapped in an elevator with a pregnant lady in the midst of labor. Unfortunately, cell service is a no-go, so it’s up to Nurse Ashley to bring this baby into the world.

The mom-to-be is understandably panicked, but between Ashley’s calming words and Andre’s calming face (seriously, that face could tell us anything), she manages to relax. Well, as relaxed as anyone can be while they expel a full-grown baby from their body without the assistance of any drugs whatsoever.

Derek shows up at the hospital to look for Ashley, and a nosy nurse is practically giddy when telling him that she was last seen going into the elevator with Andre. The elevator is still stuck when Derek arrives, but it soon opens to reveal Ashley and Andre on the floor with their patient… and her just-born baby girl!

“You guys had quite a night,” Derek tells Ashley and Andre, but he doesn’t seem the least big understanding. “You stood me up,” Derek whispers to her, as if any of this was her fault. Do we… hate him?
