Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale saw Dawn Fletcher confess to attacking Joe Tate – but did she really push him? Following a dramatic party at Home Farm, all Joe’s dirty laundry was aired – and partygoers learned about both the affair and his part in Noah’s spiking.
In the aftermath, one of Joe’s many enemies struck – shoving him out of a window. Joe has been unconscious ever since, in a coma after suffering a brain bleed. And, as DS Dasari and the police investigated, those guilty parties just got guiltier.
In one of the soap’s shortest whodunnits, the culprit seemed to come clean tonight – as Dawn told Billy that she’d been the one who pushed Joe.

Dawn’s confession came tonight (Monday, May 12) as she roused Billy’s suspicion by providing a fake alibi. He’d spent the day at the station, having been formally arrested for attempted m.u.r.d.e.r.
Billy was released when Dawn told the police that she and Billy had been in bed together at the time, so he couldn’t have pushed Joe. However, Dawn’s reasons for lying didn’t add up to Billy, and he demanded answers.
He soon became convinced that she must know who really did it, and questioned whether Clemmie could have pushed Joe. It was then that Dawn blurted out the truth – telling Billy that it had been her.

Emmerdale spoilers for the rest of the week haven’t revealed what happens next – but can things really be so cut and dry? While she may well have pushed Joe – perhaps in a fit of anger, after hearing how he threatened Clemmie – there could still be a twist in store.
And, with many fans still convinced that it was Clemmie, there’s a possibility that she might be covering for someone. Daughter Clemmie, perhaps?
“I think it was Clemmie. Dawn will Find out and cover for her I think,” wrote one fan last week – prior to tonight’s episode airing.
“I think the person opening the door is Dawn, she starts arguing with Joe he grabs her and either Clammie [sic] or Lucas sees this pushes him off her to stop him and the push makes him unsteady and fall, Dawn will help cover it up,” said another.
“I’ll put my money on it being Clemmie and I think Dawn will cover for her,” wrote a third.
