Dawn reaches a final decision in Emmerdale as a heart will be broken
It’s crunch time for Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) in Emmerdale as she finally decides whether she wants to save her family with Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) or explore a new life with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Joe has been dangling carrots for confused and infatuated Dawn, offering her a life in LA to sway her away from Billy. Kim Tate (Claire King) has been able to see right through the empty promises and tried her best to push Dawn and Billy back together with an impromptu day off, it was a positive move towards them reconciling.
But at the same time, Dawn is completely hooked on the kidney thief, despite him blowing hot and cold more times than a dodgy storage heater.
Even despite him running off without a word and ending their relationship, she still can’t give him up.
Joe seemed far more reluctant in their relationship, calling her needy and shunning some of her over-the-top advances, though it seemed she eventually wore him down when he suggested they run away together – although that was right before he disappeared on her.
But then there’s Kim, desperate to be the glue that keeps the family together.
She has tried to make Dawn see sense, and orchestrated moments of intimacy between Dawn and Billy to remind them of their former love.
But she’s blindsided by Joe’s next move, when he reveals to Kim he has genuine feelings towards Dawn.
Understandably, she has a hard time believing it and Joe promises to win her over. He’ll have to win Dawn too, who is becoming fed up with the cold shoulder he’s been showing her.
Joe then insists Dawn is still in love with him, and deep down it’s not something she can deny.
Dawn swerves Billy once again and is left feeling guilty, knowing she can’t go on like this and has a huge decision to make – keep her beautiful family together, or sail off into a new and exciting life.
Overwhelmed with the gravity of her situation, Dawn makes a strange choice of confident and opts to seek advice from Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
Having talked it through, Dawn settles on her next move – and there is set to be one heck of a shake up in Home Farm.
