DNA twist as John Sugden’s true identity finally ‘revealed’

Emmerdale fans are convinced that a huge DNA twist is on the cards as Robert Sugden and John Sugden's feud escalates - with the pair set to come to blows soon

Emmerdale fans are bracing themselves for a major DNA bombshell in the ITV soap’s latest plot twist.

The arrival of John Sugden, played by Oliver Farnworth, has sent shockwaves through the village, with his sister Victoria, played by Isabel Hodgins, blissfully unaware of his sinister intentions.

John’s rap sheet is growing, having covered up Anthony Fox’s m.u.r.d.e.r and k.i.l.l.e.d Nate Robinson, whose body he dumped in the lake. Now, it seems his next target may be closer to home.

Next week, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is about to be kidnapped and drugged, sparking fears that John’s feud with his sibling has reached a d.e.a.d.l.y boiling point.

However, it’s unclear whether John is behind the kidnapping or if someone else is pulling the strings.

A soap insider hinted: “Being released from prison and returning to the village is meant to signal a fresh start for Robert.”

They warned: “Unfortunately, his homecoming is a disaster, and it’s about to get even worse. After clashing with John again, there’s a very real chance Robert might not survive their confrontation,” reports the Express.

But as tensions rise within the family, Emmerdale viewers have started to speculate that the feuding brothers might not be blood relatives after all.

Taking to X, one fan speculated: “Is John really a Sugden? Don’t remember Jack being a psychopath #Emmerdale.”

Another agreed, posting: “#Emmerdale Give me my wish that John isn’t a Sugden, because this is the second time Robert mentions John stealing other people’s lives… #Robron.”

And a third chimed in with: “Would you like me to arrange a DNA test for you and John, Victoria or should I get Jeremy Kyle on the phone? (They never did do a DNA test when John first arrived last August, Mrs Poundland just took him at face value) #Emmerdale.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
