Does EastEnders' Linda Carter die amid alcoholism struggles as viewers predict sad end

EastEnders’ Linda Carter has left fans worried about her future as she continues to spiral with her alcohol addiction.

Many viewers have been concerned that it could be the end for the beloved character, played by Kellie Bright. Panicked fans rushed to social media on Monday to question whether Linda is d.e.a.d, with one user writing: “So is linda d.e.a.d or no???” and another posting: “Is Linda d.e.a.d or is this just a flash episode?”

One person commented: “Baffled…is Linda d.e.a.d?” In the latest episode, Linda’s life flashed before her eyes as the show depicted her death and how it would have impacted her friends and family if she passed away after not giving up booze. Linda has been battling an alcohol addiction for the last five years, and her most recent relapse happened during the last Christmas season.

Keanu Taylor ended up dead as she tried to protect Sharon Watts from him, but the guilt of k.i.l.l.i.n.g him hugely affected her mental health. Her alcohol addiction hit rock bottom last week, and Johnny, Sharon and Alfie struggled to find a way to help her. Elaine Peacock also issued her with an ultimatum, go to rehab or leave the Vic.

On Monday, Linda was seen choosing the drink over looking after her health. She pushed her mum to the floor and Johnny’s little brother even drew a picture of her drinking problem. He drew a picture of her lying on the floor with a bottle in her hand.

Fans soon witnessed her keel over and vomit up blood before d.y.i.n.g in a tragic moment. Scenes jumped to her funeral, with a devastated Johnny struggling to come to terms with her d.e.a.t.h. Sharon delivered a eulogy and Johnny caused a scene, yelling that he wouldn’t forgive Linda for ‘choosing to d.i.e’.

However, fans soon discovered that none of it was real and was simply a flash sequence showing what could happen to her if she didn’t focus on recovery. The next scene, after her so-called funeral, took viewers back to her standing outside the Vic in the rain holding a bottle after realising what could happen to her.

She poured the drink down the sewer and threw the bottle away and went back into the Vic to tell Elaine that she doesn’t want to d.i.e.
