Just as Kim Tate (Claire King) has got her clan back together and a support network after the d.e.a.t.h of husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), she’s in for some bad news in Emmerdale. And she only has herself to blame.

She’s been busy with desperately trying to keep Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and Billy (Jay Kontzle) together and Dawn away from toxic Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), but her efforts have only isolated Dawn from her and pushed Dawn further towards Joe.

Kim’s also been trying to keep Joe in check while managing wayward Ross (Mike Parr). It’s a lot of spinning plates and it’ll be the cause of everything going off track.

With a lot on her mind, she makes a startling mistake when she absent-mindedly leaves a gun unattended on the table. It’s an error that could prove d.e.a.d.l.y.

Who should find it? Curious little Thomas after distracted Kim leaves the room. Thomas goes straight for the weapon and a dangerous situation ensues.

Gabby (Rosie Bentham) is horrified and furious to walk in and see her son playing with a real firearm.

She unleashes rage on Kim and catches her completely off guard when she responds with a drastic measure – she’s leaving Home Farm for good.

Kim is beside herself as Gabby and Vinny (Bradley Johnson) pack up for the Dingles.

Gabby has got it wrong though if she thinks she’ll have an easy time at the Dingles.

There’s immediately issues between her and Sam (James Hooton) and Sam starts scheming to get rid of his new house guests.

Sam pretends to Kim that Gabby has plans to move to Leeds, which does the trick in motivating Kim to get Gabby back.

Kim offers a smart alternative – she’ll give Gabby Dale View as long as she promises to stay in the village. Gabby is pleased as punch with this outcome and Kim is impressed with Sam for his ingenuity.

Without Gabby there to distract her, can Kim now sort Dawn once and for all?
