EastEnders’ Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) makes an upsetting discovery about grief-stricken Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) next week as her heartache over her late ex-husband Martin Fowler (James Bye) starts to raise serious concerns.

Stacey has been consumed by her emotions ever since Martin d.i.e.d. in the aftermath of the Queen Vic explosion back in February, just moments after he and Stacey officially got back together.

Stacey’s grief has also gravely impacted her relationship with daughter Lily Slater (Lillia Turner), who even blamed her for Martin’s d.e.a.t.h.

Next week, Stacey is still refusing to leave her bedroom, leaving Lily and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) struggling to keep the family home running in the absence of Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), who flees Walford after her partner Harvey Monroe’s (Ross Boatman) affair with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) is exposed.

Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) steps in to try and take control of the situation, but begins to worry that Stacey – who has bipolar disorder – may need professional help.

Those concerns grow later in the week when Kat’s other half Alfie learns something upsetting from Stacey’s young son Arthur Fowler (Rocco Brenner).

Having finally left her bedroom, Stacey invites Kat and Alfie round for a family meal, where she tries to enforce merriment.

However, the mood quickly changes when Stacey realises that her mobile phone has accidentally fallen into the washing bag that Freddie has just taken to the laundrette.

Meanwhile at the laundrette, Kat and Lily try to calm Stacey down, fearing she’s experiencing a bipolar episode. However, when Alfie shares what he has learned from Arthur, an incident between Stacey and Lily leaves their relationship at breaking point…
