Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) tried to make a break for freedom in EastEnders on Thursday after months of being held hostage by Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman).
As fans of the BBC soap know, Reiss has been keeping Bianca locked up in a storage unit since November, after she uncovered that he m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d comatose wife Debbie in her care home bed last year.
Reiss’ fiancé and Bianca’s sister Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) is currently on trial after being wrongly accused of Debbie’s m.u.r.d.e.r, with Reiss desperately trying to free his pregnant partner without implicating himself.
On Thursday, Bianca plotted her escape from the lock-up, as she faked agonising stomach pains and tried to convince Reiss she was in a serious way.
When the plan did not have its desired effect, Bianca had to rethink, and pretended to be unconscious when Reiss returned to the unit later that day.
A panicked Reiss began tending to her, at which point Bianca lept up and attacked Reiss.
In the struggle, she managed to get hold of the keys to the chains Reiss has been using to keep her shackled.
For a moment, it looked like Bianca’s plan had succeeded, but Reiss swooped in to snatch the keys back, leaving her distraught.
She pleaded with him to let her go, and Reiss became emotional over the events of the last few months.
But Bianca inadvertently sealed her fate when she called Reiss ‘useless’, triggering him and prompting him to walk out and leave her.
Now back to square one, will Bianca find another way to secure her freedom?
