EastEnders casualties ‘confirmed’ in huge week as lives are blown apart
Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) and Zack Hudson’s (James Farrar) war over Barney Mitchell’s (Lewis Bridgeman) true paternity is set to come to a catastrophic head in EastEnders next week when a watery disaster puts lives on the line.
The pair have been at odds ever since Zack made the bombshell discovery earlier this year that he is Barney’s real father, following a fling they had years before either of them lived in Walford.
Nicola has taken drastic steps to stop Zack from revealing the truth, having him viciously attacked, before further intimidating him by revealing she’d k.i.l.l.e.d her other son Harry’s (Elijah Holloway) girlfriend Shireen – and wouldn’t be afraid to strike again.
The murderous club owner has also made threats against Zack’s ex-girlfriend Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and their daughter Dolly.
In recent days, fans of the BBC soap have seen Zack plotting to escape Walford to protect Whitney and Dolly, and he is intent on taking Barney with him.
Next week, however, Zack reconsiders his options when he learns from Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) that Nicola recently asked him to help move a body.
Zack then confides in Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who convinces him to go to the police with this new information to protect Barney. After he then speaks with DC Powers, Nicola is swiftly arrested.
When Zack sees Harry’s reaction to Nicola’s arrest, he reveals the truth about Barney’s paternity to him, hoping Harry will help him get Barney away to safety.
Unfortunately for Zack, his plan is thwarted when Nicola is later released and Harry reveals to his dad Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) that Barney is not his real son.
As the Mitchell family implodes, a shaken Teddy and Nicola are forced to pull together when Harry informs them about Zack’s plan to escape with Barney.
Harry takes matters into his own hands and bundles Zack into his car boot before speeding out of Walford.
Fearing what Harry might do, Teddy intercepts Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) and Billy and Honey Mitchell (Perry Fenwick and Emma Barton) on the way to the cinema and demands they follow Harry so he can stop him before he goes too far.
However, there is then a devastating twist when a car veers off the road and plunges into a lake – but which car is it, and will all the passengers escape with their lives?
Meanwhile, back in Walford, news of the crash reaches Zack’s friend Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig), who heads to No.1 to reveal a truth to a stunned Barney…
