Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) made quite the discovery about Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) in EastEnders tonight, days before her return.

A few months ago, Sharon was sent to prison for contempt of court. There, Sharon came across old enemy Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman), who revealed she had previously shared a cell with Ruby.

To facilitate Louisa Lytton’s maternity leave in 2021, Ruby was locked up as a result of Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) framing her for growing a cannabis farm. The deed was the Slaters’ way of revenge for her lying to falsely imprison Stacey (Lacey Turner).

At the time, it was strongly hinted that Ruby was pregnant with ex-husband Martin’s (James Bye) baby.

During Sharon’s time behind bars, she was stunned when Chrissie unknowingly revealed Ruby had Martin’s baby and moved after giving birth.

Since then, the right opportunity to tell Martin the shocking truth hasn’t arose for Sharon.

In tonight’s episode, Phil continued to help Sharon in her search of Ruby. Unfortunately, top Mitchell solicitor Ritchie was on holiday and unable to help Phil, so he turned his attention to Johnny (Charlie Suff), who reckoned he could track Ruby down.

And he did it.

In the pub, Johnny told Sharon and Phil that Ruby is now living in Essex after giving birth to a little boy in 2022.

While he didn’t have access to a birth certificate, the information was enough for Sharon to accept Chrissie and Ruby were telling the truth.

She braced herself, knowing the information she had just learnt is going to change Martin Fowler’s life forever.

‘All along, she told Martin she was pregnant and he didn’t believe her’ actress Louisa told Metro.

‘She’s gone off to prison and we haven’t seen her for two or three years, but she says in that time she’s had no contact, no visits at all from Martin.

‘So she takes it upon herself to not push forward with trying to prove to him that she’s had this baby, I think because she’s so hurt.’
