EastEnders confirms unexpected news about show’s biggest legend – just weeks after return

EastEnders has revealed big changes ahead at The Queen Vic pub.
The fictional boozer, which has been at the centrepiece of the BBC soap since 1985, has seen quite a lot during that time. Oh to be a fly on the wall!
18 months ago it was a crime scene – with six Walford women complicit in the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
This was just a short time after the Knight clan moved in, joining Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and her infant children.
Last Christmas was just as eventful, as Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) was exposed over the turkey dinner.
Little did the residents realise, less than two months later, their lives would change forever. A horrific chain of events led to an explosion tearing through the boozer, reducing it to rubble.
The Knights and Carters had to find a temporary home with Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) while they eagerly awaited it’s reopening on VE Day. The party almost didn’t happen – as many didn’t want to celebrate following Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) d.e.a.t.h in the blaze.
Now, just weeks after order was restored, there’s set to be even more upheaval.
Earlier this week, the show’s social media team made somewhat of a blunder.
Posting a behind the scenes video to TikTok, a ‘for sale by auction’ sign was clearly visible hanging off The Vic in the background.
Oops.
Fans flocked to social media to pick up on the gaffe, realising that the clip was swiftly deleted to conceal the huge spoiler.
Why are the Knight-Carter clan moving on so quick?
However, yesterday, after realising that all and sundry had picked up on the huge revelation, EastEnders responded by poking fun at themselves.
They shared a new photo of actors Tameka Empson, Emma Barton and Elijah Holloway, who play Kim Fox, Honey and Harry Mitchell, all glancing down towards a phone.
The post was captioned: ‘Desperately searching for clues in Behind The Scenes #EastEnders content…’
In the back of shot, directly behind the three, was the ‘auction’ sign.
But who will be the new owners?
One viewer speculated that returning Max Branning (Jake Wood) could be signing on the dotted line: ‘I’d love to see Sharon and Phil back behind the bar. Max, as the owner, just wouldn’t work.’
‘Kim would be a good landlady’ added another.
A third said: ‘Chrissie Watts, now is your time.’
