EastEnders’ David Wicks shocks cheating Cindy Beale moments before oblivious Ian proposes
As sparks fly between Cindy and David, will Cindy stay loyal to Ian?
DAVID Wicks made a shocking statement about his half-brother just moments before Ian Beale made an elaborate proposal.
Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is currently juggling four men – and her love life just got even more complicated after a shocking proposal in Tuesday night’s episode of EastEnders.
Cindy came face to face with her ex lover David Wicks (Micheal French) nearly 28 years after he abandoned her and she fled to France.
The shocks kept on coming for David after Cindy revealed she was back together with his half-brother Ian (Adam Woodyatt).
Another bombshell was dropped when Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) revealed Cindy was married to the Queen Vic landlord, George Knight (Colin Salmon), and has two daughters with him.
David paid himself a visit to the Queen Vic to find out more information about Cindy’s other family.
This led to a showdown between the former flames as David said: “I know you Cindy. I know what works for you and what doesn’t. And Ian isn’t it.”
However, Cindy protested and called Ian a family man rather than “a chancer in a cheap suit.”
But David is certain that it won’t last.
Cindy then reminded him of how lonely and broken she felt after David ditched her at Waterloo station with her children over two decades ago, when Cindy asked him to run away with her.
She told him she never wants to feel like that “alone” ever again.
The pair were interrupted by George as he entered looking confused at what he walked in to.
Cindy was then whisked away by her daughter Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) to Ian who was down on one knee.
His elaborate proposal made Cindy say ‘yes’ and agree to marry him, while her lover Junior Knight and exes David and George looked on.
Will Cindy be tempted to cheat on Ian?
Meanwhile, David promised to Bianca that he will be sticking around for the long-haul.
But as his past shows he is prone to running away, can his word be trusted?
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
