EastEnders has given fans a major update on the iconic Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) during a scene in tonight’s episode.

Carol was last seen on Albert Square back in 2015, leaving Walford on a motorbike for pastures new.

Now, her ex David Wicks (Michael French) and daughter Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) are back on the Square, and Carol has been the topic of conversation between them.

With David in a spin after coming face to face with Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) again, Bianca had to prompt him to ask about the rest of the family.

She then gloated that Carol was doing much better without David around, after he broke her heart.

David was quick to jump to his own defence by pointing out that it was actually him who had had his heart broken – quite literally.

Viewers may remember that David suffered a heart attack on his and Carol’s wedding day in 2014, leaving Carol convinced that she had been jilted.

After the way they both handled the situation, they realised that they didn’t have a future together and called it quits, with David leaving the Square.

With David and Bianca both back in Walford, fans are keen to see Carol join them. However, that may not be set to happen, as actress Lindsey Coulson is reportedly set to join the cast of Waterloo Road as the new headteacher.

‘Lindsey’s thrilled to be joining the show’, a source told The Sun.

‘She’s playing the new headteacher and it’s a great role for her. The show is really going from strength to strength.

‘She’s a real powerhouse actress and is having a great time.’
