EastEnders exposes Cindy’s huge secrets in early
EastEnders spoilers follow for the latest episode, which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and doesn’t air on TV until Friday (December 20).
EastEnders’ Cindy Beale’s secrets have been revealed to another major character, in the show’s latest episode.
This week, Lauren Branning asked Cindy for some more pills, after finding out that going cold turkey could be dangerous for her unborn child.
Cindy was reluctant after discovering that Lauren was pregnant, but she gave her the pills, fearing that she was close to the truth about Kojo’s accident.
Lauren took the pills at home with Louie and quickly slipped unconscious – unaware that a candle had fallen over and had set fire to the flat.
In today’s episode, as the fire raged, Ian told Cindy about Peter’s plans to propose to Lauren on Christmas Day, which she clearly felt uncomfortable about.
The Beales and the Brannings then noticed the fire, and when Cindy heard Lauren’s phone ringing, it was confirmed that she was inside.
While Jack and Ian found it impossible to get inside the building, Cindy ran to the back door and managed to get both Louie and Lauren out, relatively unharmed.
At the hospital, Ian told Peter that they could all stay with him until the flat is sorted, but Peter was confused about why he wasn’t allowed to see Lauren.
When Peter barged into the room to ask what was happening, Lauren finally decided to explain everything and tell him about her painkiller addiction. Peter asked where she got the pills from, and Lauren revealed that was Cindy was her supplier – and was involved in Kojo’s accident.
Cindy denied everything, and Peter and Ian were torn as to who to believe. Desperate, Lauren suggested that they ask Kojo about what really happened.
Back at The Vic, the family asked Kojo if he was with anyone that night. Still terrified by Cindy’s threat that he would be sent back to live with his brother, Kojo took her side and said he was alone.
Lauren was devastated that Peter believed his mum over her. He suggested that Lauren stays with Jack for a while, concerned about the family tensions over Christmas.
Cindy was hailed a hero at The Vic, after saving Lauren earlier. But meanwhile, Elaine heard voices coming from the living room and discovered the infamous conversation between Cindy and David playing.
Freddie and Anna had been transferring the last of the bird sound recordings onto CDs, which led Elaine to find out about not only Cindy’s feelings for George, but her affair with Junior.
What will Elaine do now?
