EastEnders fans ‘work out’ real reason behind car crash and it’s going to be explosive

EastEnders fans reckon they’ve sussed out the characters who’ll be caught up in an upcoming dramatic car crash.

The Beeb has teased viewers with a first-look trailer, showing a car spiralling out of control and plunging off a bridge into a lake.

The fresh clip shows a silver motor speeding through the night-time streets, before the journey abruptly ends as the mystery driver seemingly loses control.

While EastEnders hasn’t revealed the identity of the driver in the clip, it’s safe to say that the fate of the driver – and any other passengers – is hanging by a thread.

Fans have already begun speculating about who might be involved in the stunt, with some suggesting Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) discovers the truth about Barney Mitchell’s (Lewis Bridgeman) real parentage, reports Belfast Live.

Viewers know that Zack Hudson (James Farrar) is Barney’s biological father, following his past fling with Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), which resulted in the teenager’s birth.

In recent episodes, Zack has been keen to reveal the truth to his son, but Nicola has been adamant about keeping her secret hidden.

When a beating from her henchmen didn’t deter Zack, Nicola resorted to even more sinister tactics, confessing that she was behind the d.e.a.t.h of her son Harry Mitchell’s (Elijah Holloway) girlfriend Shireen Bashar and would do the same for Zack, his ex Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and daughter Dolly Hudson if he didn’t back down.

EastEnders enthusiasts have been speculating wildly on social media since the dramatic teases of an upcoming disaster in Walford. One viewer speculated on social media, “My theory is this is when Zack attempts to kidnap Barney and Teddy or Nicola gives chase.

“Nicola fires her gun at the car, Zack loses control, the car crashes with Barney and Zack inside. That looks like Barney in the passenger seat.”

Meanwhile, another added a chilling theory: “Shireen from the d.e.a.d, chasing Nicola into the water.”

And others chimed in, with one predicting dark times ahead for Nicola: “Nicola trying to escape the consequences of her actions maybe?”.

An additional fan pondered over the ownership of the car: “I think the car belongs to Teddy. Most likely Barney’s true paternity is exposed.”

With Lacey Turner having recently announced her temporary departure from the soap, theories about Stacey Slater being involved in the tragedy have also surfaced, causing worry amongst fans.

“It’s time for myself and Stacey to take a rest and who knows what Stacey will get up to in her time away? Knowing Stacey, it will never be boring,” admitted the actress earlier in the week.

One ardent supporter declared, “If it’s Stacey we riot.”

while another beseeched the producers, “Please don’t let this be how Stacey leaves.”

Another suggested mental health struggles might play a part: “Stacey while having a bipolar episode??”
