EastEnders’ George snaps and attacks Ian and another big shock follows
EastEnders’ Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and George Knight (Colin Salmon) find themselves at odds next week as the fallout from Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Junior Knight’s (Micah Balfour) affair continues to tear through both families.
Cindy was attacked and left for dead by a mystery assailant after the truth exploded in The Vic on Christmas Day.
After being discharged from hospital earlier this week, she was met with hostility from her supposed nearest and dearest, and forced to take refuge in Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) spare room.
However, that arrangement comes to an end next week when Reiss orders her to leave.
Upon hearing the news, Ian heads over speak to Cindy, and after a heart-to-heart, he convinces her to head to The Vic and mend fences with the Knights.
But once there, Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), George (Colin Salmon) and Gina (Francesca Henry) make their feelings perfectly clear, and are later left questioning Ian’s motives.
Eventually, George is convinced to speak to Cindy, but Ian refuses to let George see her, so Elaine sets up a plan to lure Ian to The Vic.
It’s not long before Ian realises he’s been duped, and he then finds George trying to turn Cindy against him.
Tensions then boil over between the two men as George lashes out at Ian.
Back at The Vic, Elaine follows George as he retreats to the barrel store to let out his anger, but he makes a discovery that stops him in his tracks.
The following day, the couple point the finger at one another about what they’ve uncovered, before questioning Gina and Anna (Molly Rainford).
The question remains, however – what have they stumbled upon?
EastEnders fans still have a while yet to go before finding out the true identity of her attacker, as bosses have previously confirmed the truth will be revealed as part of the soap’s 40th anniversary celebrations in mid-February.
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 20 January at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
