EastEnders aired the d.e.a.d.ly Queen Vic explosion on Tuesday night, with residents stuck inside, and outside the commotion.

On Tuesday night, Ian Beale could be seen falling to the ground with George Knight, as the Queen Vic exploded and set on fire, due to Reiss Colwell’s car crashing into gas cannisters. It had already been an eventful night for Ian, who was ‘accidentally’ shot in the arm by Cindy, after it was revealed his mum Kathy was her Christmas Day attacker.

That wasn’t his only injury, however. As he told Cindy he’d “make her life hell” if she exposed Kathy as the attacker to the police, emotions reached new heights, as she pushed Ian in front of Reiss’s speeding car. Things went from bad to worse, leading to the fatal explosion when Reiss Colwell crashed into the Vic with his car.

The secret stays between Ian, Kathy and Cindy for now, as a ‘wincing’ Ian can be seen holding his arm in pain outside the Vic after the explosion. As Jack orders everyone outside to “stand back” a worried Peter notices his dads arm, unbeknownst his mum has just shot his dad.

As Peter asks his dad if he’s okay, Ian responds: “Yeah, um.. Shrapnel from the explosion.” Although he’s trying to put on a brave face for his son, it’s clear the character is in pain with his untreated gun shot wound, as he’s seen wincing. Could his injuries have more of a consequence?

Other fans believe Cindy won’t stop until she ‘finishes the job’, after failing multiple times. Taking to X formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: “So Cindy just wants Ian D.E.A.D OMG #Eastenders, while another said: “I can’t believe Cindy tried to k.i.l.l Ian like that by pushing him in front of a car. She must really hate him.”

It’s not the first time Cindy has tried to k.i.l.l Ian. In 1996, Cindy hired professional hitman John to k.i.l.l him. Once again, he escaped d.e.a.t.h, leaving him wounded in hospital. Could his luck run out? Others believe so. Discussing a ‘potential roof collapse’ on a forum, one fan said: “Surely Ian?? First he gets shot, then almost run over – it’s like they’re foreshadowing his d.e.a.t.h!”

After Tuesday’s episode, fans were left questioning Ian’s luck after his many unfortunate incidents. “How is Ian not writhing in pain after getting shot in the arm? #EastEnders,” questioned one fan. Another wrote: “Sorry how isn’t Ian d.e.a.d? Shot and pushed in front of the car????”

Later on, Ian can be heard telling Peter that “somebody has a lot to answer for,” after being asked how the commotion happened. Will the trio’s secret be exposed? And will the commotion lead to more consequences for Ian?
