EastEnders’ k.i.l.l.e.r to stage shocking comeback for murderous revenge
This article contains spoilers for Monday’s episode of EastEnders, which airs tonight on BBC One but is already available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) has escaped from prison – and has promised ex-wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) that he will stop her upcoming wedding to Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).
The pair’s nuptials were full steam ahead once again following their reconciliation in yesterday’s episode.
After learning that Suki was partly responsible for Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder at Christmas, Eve darted off to Brighton – but returned to make peace with Suki’s co-conspirator Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
She admitted that the betrayal from her fiancée was too much to bare, and that she didn’t know if she could ever trust her again.
During the Albert Square Christmas lights switch-on, Suki told Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) of her heartbreak, and was stunned when Eve jumped up on stage to declare her love and forgiveness for her.
With the festive lights surrounding them, the two shared a heartfelt kiss.
Their happiness was to be short-lived. Nish telephoned grandson Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) from prison, upset that he hadn’t attended his plea hearing earlier in the day.
Viewers will remember that the villain was put behind bars after taking responsibility for Keanu’s d.e.a.t.h. In the days prior, he made a deal with Suki that would secure her freedom.
If she agreed to continue visiting him inside prison before he succumbed to his terminal illness, he would continue to take the blame.
As Suki hadn’t visited, and upon hearing Eve’s voice in the background of his call to Nugget, Nish fell to the floor in anger.
In tonight’s episode, the engaged couple were on cloud nine once again as they prepared to be wed. Suki admitted that the only concern would be if Nish retracted his statement, but Eve reassured her that he would have no reason to do that.
A guilty Nugget then admitted that he slipped up, and Nish knows they’re back together. The youngster said he was sick of the Panesar clan’s lies and games, and would be happier if they all made peace.
Has Nish managed to get into his head?
Later, the prison called with some troubling news – Nish had less than 24 hours left to live and the only person he wished to see was Suki.
She travelled to the hospital and found her ex-husband lay in a bed, hooked up to machinery and clearly suffering. He told her that he made the ultimate sacrifice for him and feels betrayed.
