EastEnders’ Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) feared being cancelled after making grotesque remarks to recently traumatised Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer).

The sisters both had an ordeal at the hands of twisted k.i.l.l.e.r Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman), who smothered his comatose wife Debbie to d.e.a.t.h and let Sonia take the fall for it, before then holding Bianca hostage after she found out the truth.

On Monday’s episode, Sonia and Bianca headed to Beale’s Eels to enjoy a lunchtime promotion on offer for Mother’s Day, where mums could eat free.

And never one to turn down a good deal, Bianca made the most of the offer – but they were left shocked at owner Ian’s comments towards them.

First off, he made a vile remark about Sonia breastfeeding her newborn daughter Julia in the restaurant, much to her ire.

He then made a quip about Bianca dreaming up how she could use her hostage ordeal to solicit freebies out of business people like him, leaving her disgusted.

Ian’s comments were overheard by a fellow diner, who stuck up for Sonia and Bianca.

She then revealed that she had left a negative online review about Beale’s Eels, which also noted how Ian had his own mum Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and pregnant daughter-in-law Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) working there on Mother’s Day.

Upon finding the review online, Ian was left fearing he would be ‘cancelled’ for his behaviour, but was given some food for thought from grandson Louie.

Meanwhile, the woman approached Bianca and Sonia in the street outside, where they shared their disgust at Ian’s comments.

Bianca then agreed to grab a drink with her nearby – but it soon became apparent the woman had a hidden agenda, secretly taking a call to tell an accomplice they were ‘in’.

Spoilers have already revealed the woman is a journalist who will be seen trying to get the inside scoop on Reiss.

Will Bianca spill the beans?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
