EastEnders legend’s death predicted yet again as worrying rumours increase
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7:30pm, but is available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) death has been hinted at again – following a chilling conversation with Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris).
The Queen Vic landlady seemed to be on better form, telling mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) that she was meeting with her recovery co-ordinator in the wake of Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) taking the blame for Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder.
We’ve seen her hit the bottle over the last year, but now her ordeal seems to be over, she’s resolved to get clean.
Enter Bernie – who has been spending some time visiting family abroad after learning that Linda and five other locals were responsible for her brother’s death.
She’d agreed to keep quiet for the sake of their children, though was furious to see that Nish was the one behind bars.
Unable to contain herself any longer, she’d made the decision to go the police upon her return.
Linda explained that she had tried to take responsibility, and shut down the rumour that Nish had been blackmailed into confessing. After all, it was his decision to hand himself in.
Bernie issued a troubling warning – Linda would either die behind bars or drink herself to death.
Is this some potential foreshadowing?
We know that the cast were spotted filming funeral scenes on location, with her children Nancy (Maddy Hill) and Lee (Danny Hatchard) appearing to be emotional as they comforted grandmother Elaine and their younger brother Johnny (Charlie Suff).
Actor Shane Richie teased a dramatic Christmas, whilst some scripts that were found by an EastEnders fan confirmed that another death would take place amongst the festivities.
Linda wasn’t the only resident to be handed a threat, as Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) landed back in Albert Square after a short trip up North.
Bernie swanned in and reiterated what she’d told Suki’s co-conspirator earlier in the day.
Suki tried to reason with her, referencing the death of her sister Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) who was killed by her abusive husband Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith).
She asked Bernie to put herself in their shoes, and wonder what she would do if she’d stumbled in to find him attacking her.
Later, the weight of the day’s events had clearly took their toll on Linda and after cancelling her recovery appointment, she took a swig from a bottle of vodka.
Could she be the one to die at Christmas?
