EastEnders’ Michelle Collins ‘lets slip’ major Cindy spoiler as she chats Ian reunion
Michelle Collins appeared on This Morning on Wednesday to chat about Cindy's evil revenge on her mother-in-law Kathy - as she addressed a Cindy and Ian reunion
Michelle Collins reprised her role as Cindy Beale in EastEnders last week after a few weeks away, and she’s come back with a bang. On Wednesday, she dished all to This Morning’s Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, addressing the possibility for a Cindy and Ian (Adam Woodyatt) reunion.
In her short time back on the Square, Cindy has helped delivered her grandson, Jimmy, as she accompanied Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) to the hospital, but that’s not all.
When she left earlier this year, Cindy promised she’d be back for revenge on Kathy Beale, after it was revealed she was the one who attacked her on Christmas Day – and she wasn’t lying. Last night’s episode saw Cindy sneakily recording Kathy and Harvey kissing and expressing their love for each other.
She’s soon set to expose the pair in the Vic with all to see as Jean and Harvey celebrate their engagement during baby Jimmy’s welcome home party.
During Christmas, Cindy broke Ian’s heart as it was revealed she’d been having an affair with Junior. The pair have resented each other ever since, with Cindy even ‘accidentally’ shooting her ex in the arm. However, despite their unbelievably dramatic break-ups, This Morning’s Ben believes they’ll find their way back together, and Michelle didn’t shut him down.
“Ian is always such a wimp when it comes to Cindy,” Ben said. “I can still see Cindy getting him back, he’s never stopped loving her,” he said.
“He adores her!” Michelle exclaimed. “She loves him, but she’s not IN love with him. I think he can’t live with her but he can’t live without her. There’s a lot of old couples like that.” Could a Cindy and Ian reunion really be on the cards?
“Now, she’s come back and she’s so fed up of Kathy being hypocritical about the way she’s behaved. She looks around and is like, ‘excuse me, look at you lot! You’re the same as well!'”
To keep quiet about the fact Kathy was the one who hit her over the head with a snow shovel on Christmas Day, Cindy demanded that Ian and Kathy sign over the family empire.
“She wants what she deserves,” Michelle said of Cindy. “She can’t get Beale’s Eels, so she decides to go for the Albert which Kathy used to own.” Michelle then teased there were a number of fun moments to come.
Cindy and Ian first got together in 1988 and their relationship seemed to have been doomed from the start. From affairs, to Cindy hiring a hitman to k.i.l.l Ian, there’s never a dull day with this classic EastEnders couple.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
