EastEnders’ Mo lures in two other Walford women for her Christmas crime spree

Christmas isn’t really Christmas in EastEnders until Mo Harris (Laila Morse) has dreamt up one of her money-making schemes to get a bit of extra cash.

Having recently returned to Albert Square after a hiatus, sure enough, Mo is up to her old tricks yet again as the residents of Walford get into the festive spirit next week.

With the market currently under threat from developers, next week Mo is making trouble on Bridge Street when she starts flogging Christmas goods without a licence.

She’s later inspired by Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) with a money-making idea for the market traders.

Mo comes up with an idea to do a saucy calendar involving the men of Walford to help raise some much-needed cash.

Putting her plan into action, Mo enlists local social media influencer Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) to run the PR for the scheme.

She then entices Peggy’s new owner Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) to sponsor it.

But is the scheme as legit as light-fingered Mo has led them to believe?

Elsewhere, it’s also a torrid time for Mo’s relative Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), who is desperately trying to recoup her losses after being scammed.

Jean unexpectedly came into some money last month after finding out she had a pension pot she knew nothing about.

However, she has been taken in by a rogue financial advisor, not realising it is a scam.

Next week, a worried Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) tries to convince her mum to report the matter to the police, but is left feeling helpless when the reality of the situation kicks in.

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 2 December at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
