EastEnders newcomer lands new job after former position falls through
Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) has landed himself a new position in EastEnders.
The builder, as viewers know, was forced to leave his home in Australia earlier this year following a shocking incident involving his teenage son Joel (Max Murray).
The youngster had upskirted a pupil in his class, and shared the photographs online.
As a result, Ross had to cough up $50,000 to the girl’s family, and then promised never to return to Sydney.
Alongside his partner Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig), Ross has had to try and start afresh.
Aside from the issues with Joel, one of his biggest worries was how he could afford to pay back Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who offered to give him the cash he owed under the belief that it was to pay off loansharks that he had borrowed from during his divorce settlement.
Within days of landing in Walford, Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) offered him a job on his new project in Dartford.
At the time, Teddy had no idea that the site – Paradise Park – was actually a burial ground.
Four years ago, his wife Nicola (Laura Doddington) had accidentally murdered their son Harry’s (Elijah Holloway) girlfriend and ordered their associate Benji (Carl Prekopp) to get rid of her body.
In recent weeks, the shocking secret was set to be exposed during Teddy’s redevelopment.
Nic ordered Benji to move the corpse, and amid her plight, Teddy discovered everything. He offered Benji a substantial amount of money to complete the job, but then dobbed him in to the police for the crime.
Subsequently, building work was postponed and the Mitchells have focussed on trying to make amends with Harry, who is in disbelief that his mother could keep such a damning piece of information from him, or be so cruel to k.i.l.l his beloved partner.
The delay in starting work terrified Ross, knowing that it wouldn’t be long before his first instalment to Sharon would be due.
Luckily, in tonight’s episode, he had a brief meeting with the manager of a building firm based on Turpin Road, and was given a role straight away.
With that ticked off his to-do list, he then went to speak with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James).
Last week, Avani and Joel were caught sleeping together, and Vicki encouraged Ross to speak to her parents.
He opted to chat to the teen herself – concerned that something he had been keeping under his hat could be on the brink of exposure.
As viewers of the BBC One soap have seen, twisted Joel recorded himself having sex with Avani and later showed his best pal Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall).
Ross found the video, and was horrified.
After cornering Avani for a quick chat about what he’d walked into, she shut him down and stormed off.
In the distance, her grandmother Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) saw everything.
Will she be the one to find out the truth?
