EastEnders Nicola’s accomplice Benji’s identity revealed after Shireen twist

This week’s EastEnders episodes possibly won’t be the last we see of newcomer Benji whose identity was revealed this week.

We finally learned the mystery character’s identity this week after spoilers the week before had teased who he was. All we knew that he was a man linked to Nicola Mitchell, and that he was tied into Shireen’s disappearance years earlier.

On Monday night we saw him for the first time, with him identified to viewers. Not only that but it was heavily hinted he was more than just a pal to Nicola, and that they shared a past.

As well as us seeing him in the flesh and finding out more about him, it was revealed he’d either k.i.l.l.e.d Shireen for Nicola or helped her to cover up the crime. He revealed he’d buried Shireen’s body at a disused estate, before covering up what had happened to her.

So not only did we learn he was a k.i.l.l.e.r or at least helped Nicola, if she was the real m.u.r.d.e.r.e.r, but we found out that something had possibly gone on between the pair too. He made a comment about seeing her again after so long before giving her a weird look.

The way he looked at her appeared to hint there may have been something between them back in the day, while Nicola made it very clear there were no feelings from her side. Given Benji’s link to the case and storyline, are we likely to see him again?

It could well be on the cards given Teddy Mitchell and Junior Knight’s new business plan is focused around a particular location. The estate they are looking at is none other than the very same place that Benji buried the body.

So will Nicola be forced to act and get Benji to locate Shireen’s body? It certainly seems as though we will be seeing him again at some point, and we still don’t really know what happened between them and Shireen, leading to Shireen’s m.u.r.d.e.r.

Spoilers had mentioned a Benji last week but little information was given. We did not know exactly who he was and what type of relationship he had with Nicola until this week when he appeared onscreen for the first time.
