Nicola Mitchell announced she’d be going to Ibiza with her unseen sister on tonight’s episode of EastEnders and excited fans have noticed a reference to two legendary characters…
Since the Queen Vic’s explosion, Gina and Anna Knight have been out of a job – and they’re now worrying about cash. Unfortunately for them, there were no jobs going in the Albert, so they headed over to speak to Nicola in Harry’s Barn. The sisters were in luck as Nicola revealed she had a job position going while she heads to Ibiza with her sister. However, she only had one spot left.
Now, sisters Anna and Gina will be fighting it out to become the new barwoman – but who will be successful? Meanwhile, fans were more curious as to who Nicola’s sisters could be – and some have linked Ibiza to one legendary duo…
“They loom…” said one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, alongside a picture of Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell. The fan also pointed out that it wasn’t the first time that Roxy Mitchell and Ibiza had been mentioned this week. When Amy, Lily and Avani were bunking off school, Avani asked the duo where they would go if they could go anywhere.

Roxy’s daughter Amy responded: “Ibiza. My mum had a club there.” More viewers soon reacted to the potential link between Nicola and Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell. One penned: “NEED Nicola’s sister to appear ASAP #EastEnders,” as another replied: “Along with 2 other sisters that they either know or are somehow inexplicably related to,” alongside an eye emoji.
However, others weren’t so convinced as one penned: “nicola mentions she has a sister in ibiza and everyone automatically assumes it’s roxy.. baring in mind nicola is only a mitchell through marriage so it’s impossible. #EastEnders”.

Ronnie and Roxy were last seen in the BBC soap on New Year’s Day 2017 where they drowned in a hotel swimming pool. The emotional episode started with Ronnie, who had been through many troubles during her time in the Square, finally about to get her happy ending. She prepared to marry Jack Branning, however, things took a turn for the worst.
Drunk Roxy decided to jump into the pool, however she appeared to struggle as her sister Ronnie then jumped in to save her. However, Ronnie’s heavy wedding dress ended up weighing her down and unfortunately, both met their untimely d.e.a.t.h as they tragically drowned.
However, ever since fans have been hoping the two would somehow return back to the Square…
