EastEnders’ Phil declares his love for ex Sharon as pics show romantic scene

EastEnders Phil Mitchell is about to spill his feelings to his ex Sharon Watts in a rather romantic scene.

The soap hardman, played by actor Steve McFadden, has had a turbulent relationship with his ex and their friendship has been strained in recent months even more so due to his mental health struggles.

Phil has been dealing with the dark pits of depression which has caused him to push his loved ones further away.

During the live 40th anniversary episode, Phil appeared to end his own life using a gun but fortunately for the character, it wasn’t loaded. He was was found by Linda, Nigel and his brother Grant, who arranged for him to be taken away to a mental health unit.

Over this period, he opened up to a fellow patient called Gaz, and shared his true feelings towards Sharon as he claimed to have never stopped loving her.

After discharging himself from the facility, he was on a mission to make things right with his friends and family.

In the meantime, Sharon had been dating Phil’s cousin Teddy, which put a sour taste in the air between her and Phil. But the couple parted ways after Sharon spent the night with Phil’s brother Grant.

In tonight’s episode, Nigel tells Sharon that Phil has gone missing once again. Denise, Sharon and Nigel call the cops, but panic simmers down when Phil returns and explains himself.

The mix-up of his whereabouts is actually due to Nigel’s dementia (which Sharon is unaware of), and in turn he tries to cover for him.

But a concerned Sharon is unconvinced and enlists the help of Kathy and Denise to intervene with Phil.

Later in the episode, the pair share a moment alone at his house, and overwhelmed by her caring nature, Phil finally plucks up the courage to confess his feelings.

Here are some first-look action of the romantic scene, as the former partners lock eyes with one another in a sweet embrace before pulling one another closer.

But will newly-single Sharon be open to the idea of rekindling, or is Phil set for further heartbreak?
