Things are set to get worse for Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) as his mental state will reach an all time low on EastEnders.

Viewers previously tuned in to see Phil try and take his own life, but fortunately he was found by Harry (Elijah Holloway), before he lashed out at his nearest and dearest.

A concerned Sharon will convince Phil to see the doctor against his own wishes, and he will lash out yet again.

He will force her to leave number 55 Albert Square before she retreats to the Queen Vic for a drink.

At the infamous pub it’s clear that her mind is focused on Phil, despite a bit of nostalgic reminiscence with Kathy (Gillian Taylforth).

She later struggles to enjoy Honey and Billy’s joint Sten-do after her partner Teddy (Roland Manookian) pulls out all the stops.

But her concerns will prove valid when Phil disappears and she has discovered that he paid for the entire event.

Sharon will then order a search party as Phil starts to hallucinate as his mental state gets worse.

She will be left frantic in her search for Phil along with Jay, Billy and Honey after they cannot seem to find him at his Walford home.

This is as his depression will continue to get deeper as he is set to experience the symptoms of psychosis.

The hallucinations he experiences will depict scenes from the family home of the Mitchell’s back in 1985.

In the sequence, Phil will act as a bystander as he relives a pivotal moment from his adolescence.

He will also speak to characters from his past, as well as his former younger self in Walford.

This will include Jaime Winstone who is set to reprise her role as Peggy Mitchell.

The actress previously played a young Dame Barbara Windsor in the BBC biopic, Babs, and she appeared in a flashback episode of the soap in 2022.

In the end, Jay (Jamie Borthwick) will manage to find Phil as Sharon wants to stage a crisis talk intervention.

Although Phil will insist he is fine, Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) will arrive back at number 55 with a visitor.

He tracked down someone who he hopes will be able to help Phil in this crucial time, none other than Grant Mitchell.
