EastEnders ‘seals’ Grant Mitchell’s surprise romance ahead of exit – but its not Linda

EastEnders fans were left divided when they saw Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) flirting with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) during tonight’s episode – although first look pictures hint towards another romance.
As Linda approached Grant in the café to ask how Phil was doing, she opened up to him. In the deep chat, she revealed she was an alcoholic – and had only just come out of rehab.
Grant then told Linda he’d be heading back to Portugal, with his Albert Square exit confirmed for this week. As he wished her luck for the future, he grabbed her hand and gushed: “You, are amazing,” thanking her for everything she did to help Phil. “And if you ever fancy a week or two in Portugal, so I can, er… make it up to you then give me a call,” he said to a smiling Linda.
Fans were shocked at the interaction, as one took to X formerly known as Twitter to say: “Sorry but GRANT AND LINDA?????! Do me a favour!!!!!! #Eastenders,” as another wrote: “Linda and grant? Shut it down. shut it down now #eastenders.”

However, first look pictures for tomorrow’s episode (Wednesday 25th February) show Grant getting closer with his ex, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). Last week, viewers saw Grant save his ex wife Sharon while she was laying crushed in the Vic, and on Monday night he held her hand as he visited her in hospital. Now, it looks like things may be going a step further for the two getting close over a glass of wine.
The pair are said to be getting closer as they share a heart to heart following the tragic events including Martin Fowler’s d.e.a.t.h and Phil’s admission to a mental health hospital last week.

But will the former couple act on the chemistry between them? Spoilers for next week reveal that Sharon is hiding something huge and soon she realises Bianca has found out what it is. She tries to take control of the situation and prepares to be honest, but circumstances prevent her from speaking out. Could it be to do with Grant?
Grant and Sharon’s history goes way back, with the couple tying the knot in 1991. However, soon after their marriage became sour when he began to treat her badly.
Sharon later began an affair with Phil, which Grant found out about in 1994. The discovery of the saga, titled ‘Sharongate’ and attracted over 25 million viewers.
