EastEnders second shock exit ‘confirmed’ by star after fans stunned by Martin Fowler’s d.e.a.t.h
EastEnders fans were left stunned as a longstanding resident of Walford was k.i.l.l.e.d off after the Queen Vic fire
EASTENDERS fans are still reeling after one shock exit, but it looks like another one could be on the cards soon.
BBC soap EastEnders saw the Queen Vic go up in flames and one beloved character lose their life.
f
Martin Fowler, played by James Bye, passed away with a heartbroken and distraught Stacey Slater by his side.
He d.i.e.d in ex-wife Stacey Slater’s arms in the closing seconds of the episode.
He had been crushed under a falling steel beam after rescuing Stacey from the wreckage of an explosion in the Queen Vic pub.
In heartbreaking scenes he proposed and planned the next 40 years of their lives before the paramedics told Stacey that he would likely not survive his injuries.
However it now appears that another Albert Square resident could be on their way out too.
Speculation is rife that Ruby Allen, played by Louisa Lytton, could be leaving the BBC soap after one exchange between her and a co-star.
Ruby, who recently returned to the square, had only just rekindled her romance with Martin after revealing to him he had a secret son called Roman.
BBC viewers watched as Ruby was left on her knees in the square after Martin’s d.e.a.t.h, as she heard Stacey’s heartbroken crying and screams after he tragically passed away.
Sharing an Instagram post dedicated to the soap’s 40th anniversary, Louisa shared pictures from the years gone by whilst she was on the soap.
In one picture she can be seen giving co-star Jamie Borthwick a smooch on the cheek prompting the actor to comment: “You miss me don’t you.”
The comment appears to hint that Louisa could be exiting the show, and with Stacey actress Lacey T
urner taking time out of the soap soon for her maternity leave, it could also see a grief stricken Ruby leave too.
Fans have already been guessing that Ruby will leave EastEnders now Martin has d.i.e.d, as one wrote on social media: “Ruby will leave.”
Another fan guessed: “Ruby will probably leave as she knows that Martin had chosen Stacey.”
“It would make sense for Ruby to leave alone with Roman,” said a third.
Louisa made her first appearance in EastEnders on 18 March 2005, playing Johnny Allen’s daughter Ruby Allen.
In July 2006, weeks after winning the “Sexiest Female” award at the British Soap Awards, it was announced that Lytton would be leaving EastEnders in November 2006.
She returned to the soap in 2018, and then left again in 2021 before returning in recent months.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
