EastEnders’ Sonia Fowler returns to face m.u.r.d.e.r trial as k.i.l.l.e.r Reiss panics
Sonia Fowler will return to EastEnders this week after being absent for months – with tensions rising for Reiss Colwell as he struggles to keep the truth about Bianca hidden

After months away from the silver screen, Sonia Fowler is set to return to EastEnders this week, as spoilers see her on trial for the m.u.r.d.e.r of Debbie Colwell.
Sonia (portrayed by Natalie Cassidy), has been locked in prison and seemingly ignored by everyone on the Square ahead of her trial. She was arrested after police found fingerprints on Debbie’s pillow the night of her d.e.a.t.h, and Reiss had an alibi to excuse him.
An innocent Sonia has been wrongly locked up for the m.u.r.d.e.r committed by her own partner, Reiss. Bianca has been trying to prove her innocence from outside of the Square.
This week, a now heavily pregnant Sonia will come back to screens. Firstly in prison, before appearing in court in front of a jury.

A pregnant Sonia, currently on remand, pleads with Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) to help clear her name, emphasising the need for her sister Bianca Jackson’s (Patsy Palmer) support during the trial.
However, Sonia is still not aware that Reiss is Debbie’s k.i.l.l.e.r. He has Bianca confined in a storage unit, knowing she’s aware he k.i.l.l.e.d his wife.
Reiss starts to panic as he struggles to hide the truth from Sonia. In the end, he decides to ditch Sonia’s trial.
Sonia’s hopes are dashed when neither Reiss nor Bianca show up at court, leading to an adjournment of the trial due to Reiss’ recent actions. Later Sonia will apparently appear in court again, but this time Reiss might be put under the spotlight.

Social media fans have grown tired of Reiss’ lies, with some calling for him to leave. One viewer on X wrote: “Right, the year kicked off with Nish going. Reiss needs to be exposed by the end of this month and I’m being very gracious.”
Another added: “I’m really hoping that this week is the week of Reiss’s demise. It’s clear he’s feeling a little guilty for Sonia taking the fall over him.
“Can’t wait for the fallout of this when the truth comes out about Debbie’s d.e.a.t.h.”
A third asked: “When will the Reiss & Sonia storyline end?” Bianca has been locked in Reiss’ storage unit since November.
Since her capture, fans have not seen her. However, it is expected she will make more of an appearance in coming weeks as Sonia’s trial continues to take place.
