EastEnders spoilers reveal double return, huge secret and heartbreaking goodbye
EastEnders spoilers tease plenty going on in Walford next week on the BBC soap, from new arrivals, some old faces returning, a sad goodbye and some new twists on the show
There’s some huge moments on EastEnders next week, including emotional scenes, some big returns and some new faces.
There’s some trouble ahead, big discoveries and big decisions. There’s secrets and lies too, and some characters are struggling to cope with recent events.
It’s the lead-up to Martin Fowler’s funeral next week ahead of the service at a later date. His family must prepare to say goodbye, resulting in two returns and some new arrivals.
Martin was k.i.l.l.e.d off in devastating scenes during the soap’s 40th anniversary episodes. He was crushed during the collapse of The Queen Vic after an explosion.
There’s tension between relatives next week, especially his partner Ruby Allen and the Slaters. Soon we see Martin’s daughter Bex Fowler make her big return to Walford to say goodbye to her dad.A tearful Bex is reunited with her struggling mother who’s juggling caring for her newborn daughter while grieving for ex Martin, and trying to come to terms with k.i.l.l.e.r fiancé Reiss Colwell’s actions and his demise. Bex isn’t the only one back in Walford though.
Vicki Fowler heads back to the show after decades away, with the role recently recast. She’s not alone though, as she heads to Walford with new flame Ross and his son Joel.
It’s soon clear she’s hiding some big secrets though, and her family and that of her ex Spencer Moon are concerned when she arrives without him. As far as they are aware they’re still an item, but soon she shares some big news.
Sharon Watts is stunned to see her sister back, just as she grows concerned for her ex Phil Mitchell once more. After a misunderstanding, Phil ends up confessing his true feelings for ex-wife Sharon – but how will she react?
As for Vicki, she’s back for Martin’s funeral like her cousin Bex. Alfie Moon and his partner Kat Slater question Vicki on Spencer’s whereabouts and what happened between them, and it’s not long before the true reason behind the break-up is revealed.
Meanwhile Ross urges Vicki to ask her sister for money but she turns to Ian instead. Vicki lies about her debt and asks Ian for a loan, but when Sharon finds out what’s going on she accosts Vicki who quickly dismisses her concerns.
Tensions rise between the sisters though, but what is going on with Vicki and Ross? Meanwhile Bianca Jackson and her sister Sonia head out for lunch only to meet newcomer Charlotte.
Charlotte has a hidden agenda for getting close to the sisters though and soon all is revealed. Bianca discovers she is a journalist, as she’s offered an interview regarding Reiss – and while interested, Bianca declines.
She soon tells Sonia about it, but Sonia is adamant it’s a bad idea. Bex’s arrival halts the conversation and soon Bex asks her mother to accompany her at the undertakers to say goodbye to her dad.
Sonia can’t bring herself to go though, and the day before the funeral there’s a simmering row once more between Ruby and Jean Slater about Stacey’s whereabouts. Ruby soon heads to the undertakers to say an emotional goodbye to Martin, and later Sonia agrees to accompany Bex to say goodbye.
Kathy Beale joins them and she and Bex pay their person tributes, while a struggling Sonia can’t say anything. But once alone she pours her heart out and breaks down during her final goodbye.
Martin’s daughter Lily Slater is struggling and she and her pal Avani Nandra-Hart both smoke weed to distract themselves from recent events. Later in the week newcomer Joel introduces himself to the teens including the girls, Tommy Moon and Amy Mitchell.
Joel and Tommy strike up a bond, leading to him deleting his online chatbot pal but it’s clear Alfie is unsure about their new bond. Finally next week, pregnant Lauren Branning issues Peter Beale an ultimatum.
As he grows distracted on the day of their baby scan, a phone call reveals his mother Cindy Beale is AWOL so he ends up being a no-show. Lauren scolds him for choosing Cindy yet again over her, and as Peter tries to make amends he ends up proposing but Lauren declines.
