EastEnders Spoilers Reveal Shocking Aftermath! – Phil Mitchell Missing!
EastEnders viewers learned worrying news about Phil Mitchell on the BBC soap on Wednesday night as his family went to see him in the mental health unit, only for him to be gone
Phil Mitchell sparked concern once more on EastEnders on Wednesday night as it emerged he’d discharged himself from a mental health unit.
The soap favourite was admitted last month on the BBC soap after experiencing depression and psychosis, which led to a suicide attempt. He’s been there since until today’s episode when it was revealed he’d left the unit.
After his granddaughter Lexi Pearce finally found out where her grandfather has been for weeks, with the Mitchells keeping Phil’s spiral from her, she decided she wanted to go and see him. But when she and the others got there the nurse told them Phil had discharged himself and was no longer there.
With Phil missing they were concerned, with Billy asking where his cousin was. They couldn’t understand how he’d been discharged and they had not been informed, with him not returning home as they would have seen him.
New spoilers for the next episode on Thursday night have shed more light on what happens next, and what has led to Phil’s decision to leave. We will find out in the episode where Phil is and where he’s gone too.
Spoilers for the episode confirmed special scenes, as we go back in time to when Phil first entered the facility last month. We see Phil struggling in the wake of his suicide attempt, as he tries to settle in.
He’s reluctant to open up about his mental health though, not taking part in group activity and not speaking out in therapy sessions. Days later and Phil gets to know fellow patient Gaz, leading to them both bonding over their shared life experiences.
Phil is pleased to have someone to talk to in there, enjoying Gaz’s company. But when he realises Gaz will be leaving the unit he’s sad, and the news sets him back.
As the days and weeks go on Phil begins to face his inner trauma. As we get to present day, Phil’s support worker Yasmin helps Phil to realise that he is ready to leave the unit and return home.
Phil listens to voicemails left for him by ex and pal Sharon Watts and his friend Nigel Bates. It’s then that Phil makes the decision to discharge himself and he leaves the unit.
But where does he go and will the Mitchells be able to find him? Viewers will find out what happens next ahead of Phil’s return to Walford if they tune into Thursday’s episode, with further spoilers for next week confirming he is back home.
