EastEnders star Max Bowden found himself in hot water on the latest episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip after he accidentally broke a pricey antique during filming.

During Friday’s instalment (February 14) of the BBC antiques show, experts Hettie Jago and Ishy Khan teamed up with the Ben Mitchell star and his former co-star Danielle Harold to mark the 40th anniversary of the BBC soap.

The group soon split off into teams of two and scoured the Cotswolds to find the best hidden treasures that will bag them a fortune at auction at the end of the show.

And it didn’t take long before chaos ensues when the 30-year-old TV hunk spotted a model duck which sparked a fond memory from his childhood.

As he began telling a story about his grandfather, he was seen man handling the delicate antique before its head suddenly fell off onto floor.

The TV favourite was left utterly speechless at his unexpected accident, as he attempted to hide his mistakes by swiftly picking up the pieces from the floor.

Max was heard talking about how he wished the item was a goose instead of a duck because his grandfather’s name was Goose. As he was telling the story with a lot of animation, the neck appeared to fly off the body of the duck, leaving it decapitated. Max shot a shocked look at the cameras, before moving on to look for a more stable item to purchase.

One fan commented on the ordeal on X, quipping: “Max Bowden not coming across too well.” Others didn’t mind, and were just happy to see the star back on TV after his exit from EastEnders. “max bowden on my tv again I’ve prayed for times like this,” gushed a viewer.

They were guided by expert jewelry enthusiasts Hettie Jago and Ishy Khan, who assisted them in scouring local shops for hidden treasures.

Danielle had. her own shock moment with an item after she discovered some square metal tins that were an almost identical replica of the tins she ate out of on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

As the pair cruised around the stunning countryside, Max was seen sharing a stunning reaction about first impression of Danielle.

“so come on then, what was your first thoughts whenyou first met me?” Danielle asked.

Max teased his pal by making a fed up noise, to which michelle joked “well that’s not a good start.”

Max ultimately came out on top by a tight margin, though the pair suffered pretty high losses on their items and failed to make any money.

Max’s loss of £167.80 was narrowly beaten by Danielle, who came in at minus £170.80.
