EastEnders’ Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) drops a devastating bombshell on Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thaira) that looks set to spark his infamous temper next week.

Ravi is furious in forthcoming scenes when he learns from his stepmother that his daughter Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) has been harrowingly strip-searched by police.

It all unfolds after Avani and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) try to cheer up their friend Lily Slater (Lallia Turner), who is grieving her stepdad Martin Fowler (James Bye).

When they are offered drugs by a guy called Marvin, the police arrive and realise the girls are skiving school and then spot a bag of pills that Marvin has dropped by Avani’s feet.

The girls are taken to the police station where Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) separately come to retrieve Amy and Lily.

However, when Avani’s parents fail to answer the police’s calls, the teenager is horrified when the officers explain they need to strip search her, believing she could have more drugs concealed.

After Avani refuses the offer of an appropriate adult in the room, Suki later arrives having been tipped off by Jean, and is horrified to hear what’s happened.

Concerns mount for Avani as the week goes on, as she struggles to process her ordeal and clashes with her mum Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy).
