EastEnders ‘to bring back’ another Slater 19 years after debut and fans are thrilled
EastEnders fans are convinced that a soap icon is making a return to the BBC soap, after a huge clue has emerged - which will leave Stacey Slater floored
EastEnders viewers are buzzing with speculation that a soap legend could be making a dramatic return to Walford, stirring up a significant plot twist for Stacey Slater.
The renowned Slater family has faced a series of hardships in recent months. In February, Stacey (Lacey Turner) was left heartbroken when Martin Fowler (James Bye) tragically lost his life in the aftermath of the Queen Vic explosion.
Viewers will remember that Martin and Stacey rekindled their romance in his final moments, even contemplating remarriage. However, his untimely d.e.a.t.h sent shockwaves through the square, leaving everyone mourning the loss of the much-loved fruit and veg trader.
This week, the soap unveiled a stunning comeback as Stacey’s cousin, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), returned after a 20-year hiatus.
It transpired that Zoe, who has hit hard times, was staying at Stacey’s flat away from Walford, while Stacey took some time off following Martin’s d.e.a.t.h, reports Belfast Live.
However, struggling to help her cousin get back on track, Stacey eventually enlisted Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) to assist with the situation.
But after confessing she was harbouring a massive secret, Zoe – set to return again in the summer – ended up departing.
Now, fans are convinced another Slater icon is poised for a comeback, citing a significant ‘clue’.
Sharing their theories online, viewers noted that EastEnders’ new Executive Producer Ben Wadey and Sean Slater actor Rob Kazinsky follow each other on Instagram.
On X, one fan speculated: “Ben Wadey and Rob Kazinsky follow each other… is it finally happening? ? ?” Meanwhile, another chimed in: “I think he will make it happen somehow.”
A third shared: “Can definitely see him return to the show again.” Adding to the excitement, another wrote: “We need him back!”.
Sean quickly stole the hearts of EastEnders aficionados after his introduction in 2006 as Stacey’s brother, creating quite the splash on Albert Square. His character was embroiled in a myriad of gripping storylines, including tumultuous romances and intense feuds.
However, Sean bid farewell to Walford in 2009 but made a brief comeback on the beloved soap as recently as 2022.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
