EastEnders fans are convinced that Peggy Mitchell had a secret child, and they believe they know exactly who it is.
The soap legend Peggy, portrayed by Jo Warne and later Barbara Windsor, first appeared in 1991 as the mother of Phil (Steve McFadden), Grant (Ross Kemp), and Sam (Danniella Westbrook and Kim Medcalf).
Known for her distinctive blonde curls and straightforward attitude, Peggy quickly became one of the most iconic and loved characters on the show. She was involved in numerous major storylines, from managing the famous Queen Vic pub and battling breast cancer to dealing with failed marriages and Mitchell family drama.
However, in 2016, Barbara announced she would be leaving the soap after nearly 29 years. In heart-wrenching scenes, following the return of her cancer, Peggy took her own life. Now, fans are predicting a significant Mitchell DNA twist in the renowned square.
Fans have speculated online that she has a secret daughter living in Walford: Nicola Mitchell. Nicola, played by Laura Doddington, made her debut earlier this year as the estranged wife of Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian).
She didn’t waste any time stirring up trouble, reports Plymouth Live. This week, she discovered that Teddy’s new girlfriend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) recently slept with Grant, and now she has a bone to pick with her.
EastEnders viewers were thrown into a frenzy with the revelation that Zack is actually the biological dad of Sharon’s son, Barney, thanks to a historic fling, spurring Zack to demand the truth be told. Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fans on a devoted Facebook fan page predict a bombshell: Nicola could be Peggy’s long-lost daughter!
One fan excitedly commented: “I would so love if it turned out Nicola was Peggy’s long-lost daughter!” Another agreed, saying, “I’ve said this as soon as she first appeared.”
