Emmerdale AND Coronation Street pulled off air again TONIGHT as ITV continues to be rocked by schedule shake-ups
And Rob Donavan takes her sister Carla Connor hostage this week on Coronation Street
THE ITV soaps look set to be ditched tonight as part of yet another schedule shake-up.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale will lose their coveted place on the schedules as sports coverage takes priority once again.
On ITV, usual programming will be ditched in favour of coverage of the World Cup qualifier.
England will be taking on Latvia in the match with a kick-off time of 7:45pm forcing both Emmerdale and Corrie off the screens.
Live coverage of the sporting event’s opening Group K match, held at Wembley Stadium, will begin at 7pm fronted by Mark Pougatch.
This is the first time these two sides have faced each other, but England will be expecting nothing less than three points against the Latvians, whose only two wins in the last 12 months both came against the Faroe Islands.
The English players will be eager to impress Thomas Tuchel in his second game in charge of the country and earn their place in future squads for what are likely to be tougher challenges to come.
However, ITV have made another change to their programming line-up tonight in order to give fans their soap fix.
Emmerdale will air an hour-long episode tomorrow evening (Tuesday), beginning at 7pm in order to make up for the lost coverage.
This week in the Dales, Steph is floundering over the truth of her paternity.
Jai takes advantage when he sees her upset to coax information out of her.
And noticing Steph can’t help reacting to every mention of Anthony’s name, Jai presses her further.
Caleb appears and wants to know what is going on and cooks up an impromptu cover story for Anthony’s disappearance: but will Jai believe it?
Meanwhile, Coronation Street will broadcast their episode tomorrow evening (Tuesday) too at 8pm.
This week in Corrie, on Rob’s orders, Tracy calls Carla and making out she’s got a business proposition, asks her to call at No.1 as soon as possible.
Carla’s shocked to come face to face with Rob, clearly in pain and clutching a gun.
Will Rob make his escape and take Tracy with him or is it now revenge he has in mind?
Lisa’s horrified to hear there’s a hostage situation?
Will she put herself in the line of fire to save Carla and bring Rob to justice or is she too late as a gunshot fires?
Meanwhile, on BBC One, EastEnders will air as usual at 7:30pm tonight, or you can stream it from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
