Emmerdale clash: Caleb’s betrayal sparks explosive showdown with Cain
The half-brothers clashed again...
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Cain Dingle clashed with Caleb Miligan on Emmerdale following the discovery of his betrayal.
Their lives have been entwined since the d.e.a.t.h of Caleb’s father-in-law Anthony Fox, a murder that was committed by Caleb’s wife and Anthony’s daughter, Ruby Fox-Miligan. The pair decided to cover up the crime, with four others – Cain Dingle, Aaron Dingle, John Sugden and Chas Dingle – keeping the secret.
Despite having a shared goal, Cain and Caleb clashed last week after the latter discovered that his half-brother had slept with Ruby, with Caleb revealing that he had attempted to frame Cain for Anthony’s d.e.a.t.h.
With the village in mourning following three d.e.a.t.h.s, Monday’s (February 24) episode began with Cain assuring Ruby that their relationship would be fine despite her infidelity. Cain, however, faced a different response from Moira Dingle, who admitted she wasn’t sure if she could move past it.
A bruised Cain also got a stern word from son Kyle, who remarked that he had failed in being a good role model. He later spoke with Aaron, who apologised for failing to inform him of Caleb’s intentions, though Cain remarked that he “wasn’t the one” who needed to show contrition.
After John, Ruby and Caleb arrived at the pub alongside Cain, Aaron and Chas, a war of words broke out as the group bickered over the previous week’s incident, with Steph caught in the middle as she began to suspect that they were all hiding something.
After the argument continued following Steph’s departure, Chas ordered the group to head into the back room, where Cain laughed at the notion of “trust” as he informed Chas, John and Ruby that Caleb had attempted to set him up.
After Caleb said that he would have the back of anybody who “hadn’t slept with [his wife]”, an enraged Cain pledged that Caleb would end up “like Anthony” if he ever tried to frame him again. Amidst all the verbal sparring, will the group be able to trust each other?…
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
