The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn’t aired on ITV yet but is available to view on ITVX.

A guilt-ridden Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) has reached a dark place in the aftermath of Anthony Fox’s (Nicholas Day) m.u.r.d.e.r in Emmerdale, as tonight’s episode of the ITV soap saw him contemplate self-harming.

Last week, Aaron attacked sex abuser Anthony after learning what he did to Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly). As a victim of s.e.x abuse himself, Aaron left Anthony in a b.l.o.o.d.i.e.d mess on the floor of the depot after confronting him.

When he returned later that day alongside boyfriend John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), Aaron discovered that Anthony had d.i.e.d.

Under the impression that he had killed the man, Aaron descended into a panic. He was helped by John, who managed to dispose of Anthony’s body and clean up the scene of the crime.

Despite John’s help, Aaron has been spiralling and struggling to pretend like nothing happened.

As the instalment began tonight, Aaron and John were seen leaving Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) garage after stripping down Anthony’s car. John suggested that now the vehicle had been destroyed, Aaron might find the situation easier to d.e.a.l with.

Aaron, however, responded and said that while the matter is sorted on the outside, he’s still experiencing mental turmoil.

After fuelling his guilt even more by getting a drink with Ruby at The Hide, Aaron was seen in John’s van discussing the location of Anthony’s body.

John recognised what Aaron was going through and said he wouldn’t tell him where it was, because it would just make the situation even worse.

Back at the flat, an overwhelmed Aaron stood in the kitchen with a knife in his hand. Tears fell down his face as he debated harming himself, something he has done previously.

Completely consumed with guilt and wanting to do something to ease his pain, Aaron will pay a visit to Ruby before the week ends, which leaves her feeling panicked.

He sits down and opens up about self-harming and Gordon’s abuse, but quickly realises his guilt is becoming too much.

With that, Aaron braces himself and admits he k.i.l.l.e.d Anthony.

Ruby is left stunned – what will she say next?
