Emmerdale fans are convinced that a popular character is set for a tragic exit, following a hint dropped by the soap – leaving Moira Dingle devastated.

Mackenzie Boyd, portrayed by Lawrence Robb, first graced the screens of Emmerdale in 2020 as Moira’s (Natalie J. Robb) brother and quickly won over the hearts of viewers.

His tenure in the Dales has been marked by numerous significant storylines, from his various village love affairs to his involvement in high-stakes, lethal stunts.

Currently, Mackenzie is more resolute than ever to reveal the true colours of his best friend Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) fiancé John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).

As long-standing fans will remember, army medic John harbours a dark secret – he’s a m.u.r.d.e.r.e.r, responsible for the demise of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).

There’s also speculation among viewers that John might be suffering from a psychological condition known as hero syndrome or saviour complex, reports Leicestershire Live.

Convinced that John is concealing something, Mackenzie recently uncovered a massive lie about a man named Aidan Moore from John’s past. Contrary to John’s claim to Aaron that Aidan had d.i.e.d during their army days, Aidan is actually alive and comatose in a hospital.

John has been causing plenty of drama

This revelation initially led Aaron to contemplate calling off their wedding. However, despite Mackenzie’s disapproval, Aaron and John managed to mend their relationship, with Mackenzie remaining suspicious and intent on unmasking John.

Fans are seriously worried that Mack might be the next one to bite the dust on John’s hit list. After a rather ominous remark from Mack in this week’s episode, viewers are more convinced than ever that he’s marked for d.e.a.t.h.

Viewers think Mack is getting k.i.l.l.e.d off

In the episode aired on Tuesday (May 6), Mack and Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) were brainstorming stag do ideas with Aaron when John rocked up. They eventually decided on paintballing, but Aaron’s lacklustre response of “Yeah, I suppose so,” prompted Mack to quip: “Oh the enthusiasm, k.i.l.l me now.”

Eagle-eyed fans didn’t miss the potential hint at Mack’s fate. On an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook, one user speculated: “Mack saying ‘k.i.l.l me now’… defo getting k.i.l.l.e.d isn’t he.”

Another fan echoed the sentiment, posting: “I thought exactly the same!” A third added their voice to the mix, saying: “Yeah it might be foreshadowing his d.e.a.t.h, poor Mack!”
