Emmerdale Dingle ‘to return from ᴅᴇᴀᴅ’ in huge twist – and Charity is in for a shock
Emmerdale could be getting ready for a major return from the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ twist - and it’s a Dingle family member
An Emmerdale Dingle could be set to return from the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ in a game-changing twist.
Throughout the ITV soap’s 52-year-run, a number of the Dingle family characters have played pivotal roles, such as Chas Dingle (played by Lucy Pargeter), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), Sam Dingle (James Hooton), and Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) all also appear regularly. We have also sadly said goodbyes to several Dingle members, including the likes of Lisa (Jane Cox), and more recently, Zak (Steve Halliwell).

However, according to fans, she could be set for a huge family bombshell soon. Charity is the daughter of Obadiah (Paul Kopley) and Kathleen Dingle. Obadiah has a strained relationship with Charity – who tracked him down back in 2018, in a bid to rekindle things.
Her mum Kathleen has a more mysterious backstory though. Kathleen committed sᴜɪᴄɪᴅᴇ when Charity was a young girl and left her husband Obadiah a note before driving up to a cliff and jumping off – but her body was never found.
Now, fans reckon Kathleen could easily rock up to the Dales in what would be a huge twist. On a Reddit thread called “Charity’s mum”, soap fans shared their theories about Kathleen’s arrival.
“Charity’s mum, with great casting, could have been a great addition to the cast. After that episode with her dad and she found out about the sᴜɪᴄɪᴅᴇ, I could have SWORN we were getting a fantastic arc…but it just never happened,” said one person.
Another pointed out a ‘clue’ as to how she could return: her body was never found. The fan wrote: “This one always surprises me says that charity’s mother Kathleen Dingle ᴅɪᴇᴅ by sᴜɪᴄɪᴅᴇ and the body was never found what are the chances she faked her death and is still alive.” A second penned: “Definitely!”
