Not knowing what has happened to April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) is destroying Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) in Emmerdale – and he and Rhona (Zoe Henry) are finally about to get an update.
As police call to tell them April has been found, the couple are reeling as they are filled in on what has happened, while viewers are put in the picture by a flashback episode.
It’s bound to have long-term ramifications for the family, no matter the outcome.
Elsewhere, another discovery is made by Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) as she does some digging on Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
And he is weaving his duplicity elsewhere as he hatches a cover story for Kim (Claire King).

Ross reminds Marlon of the impact he’s having on his family and encourages him to open up as to why he has a black eye. After Marlon recounts how he got tricked into giving away his money and got his black eye, Ross notes his concern for his mental state.
Ross reminds Marlon he needs to keep sight of his family at home, but it’s unclear if he’ll heed the advice to rest. Returning, shocked Rhona is cautiously relieved when Ross tells her Marlon is taking a step back for a bit.
Cain denies Caleb’s accusation over sleeping with Ruby, but pushes to find out where the intel came from. Caleb awkwardly tells Cain that it was Anthony who suggested Cain had an affair with Ruby.
Demonstrating his painkiller withdrawal to get close to Dawn, Joe is encouraged he’s making progress with her. The moment is broken by arriving Kim.
Having clocked on to Joe’s amorous run-ins with Dawn, he uses his painkiller story to quell her suspicions, which she seemingly accepts.

Rhona is still shut out of Marlon’s troubles. Asking him to consider taking a little more time with Leo and Ivy to unite them as a family again, she sparks Marlon’s anger. His emotion overflows leaving Rhona distraught.
Paddy encourages Marlon to vocalise his feelings to Rhona and sympathetically compels him to talk to her sooner rather than later. The arrival of PC Swirling immediately worries Marlon and Rhona.
They’re left fearing the worst when the policeman asks them to sit before revealing that April has been found…

Joe creates an enviable vision of working out in Dubai, and excited Noah is keen when he suggests he could pull some strings to get him a job there. Charity tries to tell her son he can’t go to Dubai but he isn’t keen to listen.
When a heated moment leads to a passionate kiss between Joe and Dawn, they head upstairs just in time to avoid being caught by an oblivious Charity, sneaking into Home Farm.
Panicking to hear Kim coming back into the house, Charity grabs the nearby laptop and sneaks out.
Leyla pitches a valentine’s raffle plan. An unenthusiastic response followed by a refusal of food plans from Suzy and Belle leave Leyla once again crushed at her own loneliness.
